Started downloading the open beta client today, tried the GOA downloader which I couldn't get to work for love nor fucking money.

In the end resorted to mtorrent and away we go nps. Slowly trickling in 8.5Gb worth of client.

I'm just d/l the open beta client now.

Is there any particular server to join to be on with some of the guys already doing this?

Yes, you will be able to use the same client for release, it will just patch you up to the live version. No need to uninstall and reinstall from the box DVDs.

Yup was only a 14mb patch for my client so far...very happy I don't have to redownload on my crappy BT line.

As for which server as soon as a list goes up we'll find out where the daoc crowd are going and make a decision.

bear in mind guys that in the UK the only way to get into headstart was to pay 39.99 and preorder via the EA premium shop.

That's 39.99 for 4 days early play time.

Went down to GAME today. Luckily, I know the guy who owns the place, so I had a chat with him - he checked whether or not I'd preordered the CE or not, which I apparently hadn't. He made it so I had. Only 2 persons, me included, have preordered the CE - so if I'm lucky, I might be able to grab a second CE copy come 18th (I couldn't preorder 2, though). Got my codes and everything...

now, the only thing missing is a computer. Fuck you, ASUS. I'm calling support tomorrow, but chances are they'll just say "fuck you lol", so I'll most likely be a few days late in joining the game. Don't level too far ahead of me, you cocks.

Now, if I *do* manage to grab another CE, who'd be interested? Yes, you'd have to pay for it, plus shipping, but I could give you them codes immediately so you can at least start playing.

Just got a mail from D2D stating EA had dropped the price on the pre-order and they'll be refunding me the price difference
