What happened?... everyone disappeared

I've recently been playing PlanetSide and have to say i'm not having much fun. TBH i think the reason is the people who i'm playing the game with. Its no where near as much fun as the B.E.T.A days.

I'm hoping that some of the new releases will grab your attention and maybe we'll see a reunion. Ones that have cought my eye are Halo and of course, Half Life 2. Are there any i'm missing as i'm unaware of recent new releases.

Recently I've been talking with Fisher about eXodus and the future.
After Neocron we all just went in separate directions and I miss the good ole days of battling together in Neocron.
Yeah we need a reunion of some kind, I miss many of the people I played Nc with

I'm still not to sure about SWG. Everywhere i look all i read are bad reviews. Although it's improved since beta 1, its still a shambles from what lots of people say. It's out pretty soon, and they still haven't lifted the NDA, so what does that tell you about it?

Join DAoC mofos. Im stuck in there trying to find a group everynight only to be landed with complete fucktards. And it's not much of a solo game. But I like it, it's fun.

yes swg is turn based and thats why its getting bad reviews.. I was gonna sign up for the EQ2 beta but it appears that its for US residents only atm but it does look damn good ..

Also a new mmo called "horizons" is in beta atm and also looks good..

As an escape ive been playing Vietcong online and have to say i luv it .. although it takes a while to get used to the style and speed of play..

Been playing single player games recently. Arx Fatalis and GTA Vice City.

I keep looking for the next MMO.

Lineage II certainly looks pretty, seems to be in closed beta atm. Its a Korean game but they plan some US servers. Information in english is worryingly sparse. From what I have seen it has fantasy setting, so melee, archery and magic is the way for combat. There are the usual races of middle earth/D&D, human, elf, dark elf, dwarf, orc. Interestingly the female dwarves dont look like the male dwarves (including the beards) as they should. They look like small humans (halflings/hobbits?).

Looks like there will be some PvP as well as PvM. They have tried to add some player skill/timing to the melee combat although I am sure character skill level will be part of it too.

I've been playing the SWG beta and as the NDA is now lifted I can reveal...

It's...

OK.

But that's about it. Graphically it's nice looking if you have a REALLY high end machine, they are supposedly building it to run on machine fully in two years, but I (and others) feel it's pretty badly optomised at the moment as well. Expect 10-15 fps around town on a high end machine with shadows turned on, less when you move..
It's turn/stat based and combat is as dull as when I played Legends of Mir - a sprite graphic based MMORPG.
You wouldn't buy it for the combat that's for sure.

As a social game, it has great potential - lots of nice emotes and socials etc, you could probably get a good sense of roleplay going on.

The main problem at launch is this: It's not finished. The servers are still unstable (client is OK for me but not everyone), many of the ingame systems are heavily bugged (but improving) but it's just lacking content at the moment, there are no player vehicles yet and some of the professions are just plain unbalanced and bugged.
I'm sure I'll try it when it's more complete, but right now, I think it would put most people off completely - even the Star Wars fans like myself.

I will probably be looking at getting Planetside for a while once I get a new job sorted as my current one is kind of broken - the company can't afford me at the moment so I'm looking around. Just in case things get ugly, I'm holding on to my cash atm!

I got a new job sorted out, more money and lots of potential plus lots of big projects going on.
I'll probably be getting Planetside in a couple of weeks or so, I'm starting in about a week but I've got lots to do before then.

Might get it sooner though...
