What I get from that is they are planning on spongeing off the remaining few players to fuel the cost of the rerelease (and any other users that happen to come across the game with interest - unlikely without any marketing), with no set date for an official boxed launch. Hardly inspires confidence, and I'm gutted at their attitudes and delivery over the last few months because for me they just keep digging and digging to the point where I am no longer interested in their game or their sham
company...

It's not as bad as it seems tbh, they're concentrating on the German market 1st which is logical seeing thats KK's and 10tacle's homebase and easiest reached. Marketing is being done in Germany with articles in major game mags as well as 10 day trial discs of NC2 when released. Not to mention a 10tacle spot on Germanies biggest games expo, with a prominent spot for NC2 (u can actually play NC2 there)

Internationally they've not yet closed a deal but are getting there, there's even worldwide plans (US and Asia)

A download option is quite logical really, this way the game is widely available and can be immediately downloaded from the website. I couldn't care less about a boxed version tbh. Just more boxes and discs to damage, loose or creating a mess.

Another reason for the DL option is as they say prolly, so they wont have to postpone the release date yet again, just to make sure the boxes hit the store.

All in all quite sensible and no rushing really, if anything just making the game look more interesting and planned thru

I hope the game totally nose dives, then some decent developers pick up the franchise or at least the idea, and make the game the way it was supposed to be made.

Yup, that's what I'm afraid of, theyre saying to release an open-beta about 1 year from now, but haven't seen any ingame shots or anything

You can get a guaranteed beta invite as of the 18th Oct (2 days ago) if you preorder the game. I doubt there'd be anything stopping you from cancelling after you get your key

I logged in last night. :oops:

The game feels much better now and there is tons and tons of new stuff: Armour, drugs, weapons, caves, mobs, vehicles etc. Not a single crash in 3 hours of play, runs great on Vista64. WTF is wrong here? :mrgreen:

I feel like a noob again.

Not gonna reactivate just yet, with the new addition to the family and my last bits of M$ training I dont think it's wise to throw myself into another MMO just yet...

Plus, I gotta see if it's actually improved gameplay/bug wise.
