I'm not wandering into NC 2 too far either till we can transfer our original characters over. By the sounds of that that should happen this week.

Screenies are @ 1280x1024 full options and with the DX7 drivers (big bug introduced with the newest patch + DX9 apparently).

I'll try to get into hacknet for a bit and make some screenies, but as it stands hacknet is still bugged.

Gfx havent changed much, but if u read the forums u'd have gathered that much by now, so here's hoping for content, which sounds a lot better tbh.

I'll say his in favor of the graphics, they FEEL right. DoY is a gritty dirty environment, and they captured that atmosphere. They just hyped the gfx update too much, and people jumped to conclusions the minute beta was released.

1 other remarkable point, server count passed 650 players tonight and still no noticable lag (ping under 100) as seen in the screenies.

Thing is, those screenies dont do the game justice. It looks shitter in motion.

And the player models are totally fuckered. It's like everyone's a daytripper from the 21st century, come to see what the mongs look like in NC's time.

Oh, and just hack a GR you pussy. I hacked one at TL20. I'd like to see what other people look like inside it, cos if its just the same models and not some sort of Tron transformation, its another copout.

tbh the player model and selection is worse than NC beta :/

with the "huge" gfx update :roll: (DAOC, SWG & COH have much better gfx and DAOC is a lot older) I wonder really how much else has actually changed .. and tbh hearing the phrase "hacket is still bugged" doesnt suprise me 1 little bit, the bloody thing has never worked..

How they think they can get away with releasing it as a complete new game is beyond me let alone DoY.. maybe they should of just settled for an update a la "SI", would of made the enhancements easier to swallow and would make people a lot less judgemental..

Thanks for the screenies Kuif.
Your right the gfx haven't really improved... the yorkies look like the same ol replicants.. The new char models look pretty crap imo.
DOY looks pretty cool tho (that is DOY rite?)

I might actually give it a try once i get my internet n stuff sorted out when i get back to the UK

MJS has said that the game is a major update for current players, and that they're marketting it as NC2 to new players, so they won't think it's just another addition and they only need to buy NC2 to be able to play the game.

Lame excuses were always his strong point I guess :roll:

However...with the introduction of faction items, a lot more added quests and missions, WoC skills theres bound to be a bit more to explore.

Some real nice ones there, they sound even better without the game

Shame they didnt spend that much time on the gfx :D

I played with over 800 people online and I had a 40 ping...

Too dark, that's how DoY is build really, play it for more then an hour, check out hacknet and its possibilities. Will have to wait for retail to see how player economics will work.

I get graphics lag which is unacceptable tbh.
And I dont know if its conn lag that keeps those fucking medicare doors from opening, but thats been 2 years theyve been like that...

Did u try the dx7 drivers??

With the last bunch of patches the DX9 version got buggy, apparently its getting fixed with the next patch.

Those screenies actually look worse than the original for the character models. It's like southpark the computer game!

THey must have saved an awful lot of money on the creation of the hacknet mobs too as they look pretty shite.

Very dissapointed by the look of this game and even more dissapointed by the way it has been released as NC2 rather than an add on.

Totally unacceptable to try DX7 drivers in a so-called 2004 game *cough*, for crying out loud, that's not an option for me.

I also get the lag, horrible lag tbh, 1 FPS, terrible GUI and i don't care about the gfx but this is unplayable.

Man i feel sad. :cry:

Did u even read the patchnotes and stickies on the forums??

They introduced a bug with the latest patch which made the DX9 drivers extremely unstable. This is a known feature and will (probably) be fixed in patch 135.

The workaround for now, and to actually play the game is to use DX7 drivers.

90% of the community agrees on the RPOS thing, hence the other sticky. I'm guessing they're working on a slimmed down RPOS, or even customizable ones (those are rumours tho). Check out the sticky for some RPOS's with some opacity in them. The default RPOS is mostly bulky because of the bright colors.
