54C mobo temp doing nothing!!? Are you sure? Have you got 120mm fans on the case? One on the bottom front sucking in and the other at the top, at the back, blowing out?

aye why u think im worrying....
just put wow on to do a test ......

CPU - 51/52*C
MB - 57*C

Gona move some of the stuff about inside
and got a 120 front and back.. grill on the side and a lil fan inside now..

I'm not sure if it can be the air flow as it gets up into the 50's after not being on long....

Need to check case out in detail m8 ,any fans pointing wrong way etc
lowest fan blowing in uppers blowing out .
My case temp is only 24 chip is 36-38 so 45 on chip isnt an issue if u can lower the case temp.Locate the thermal sensor on mainboard and see if its in a dead air spot .You may want to stick another thermometer inside to verify high temp is actual and not error on sensors or monitor software. Is your case a small midi or full tower ?

Ok just been reading up..
the A8N32-SLI Deluxe runs hot anyway, but still im a good 5+ over that..
I did clean the fans out when i did them.
Going to try a few ideas off the sites i've seen.
Anyone else think i could just have a bad MoBo

And if i have, expect it to start burning later ontonight..

And no not gone for water cooling yet.
its on the list of to do's atm.

Ok got the system temp down a little.
(this is after playing wow and having it on all evening)
the case feels a lot cooler than b4

idle
Cpu - 40*C :)
mobo - 46*C :?

Gaming
CPU - ??*C
Mobo - ??*C
(add later)

This took a well placed fan, aimed at the SB area.
(Need to work out a way to do that properly but this will do for now.)

Anyone know a site thats good for info on this stuff, google's just aint helping anymore.
I'm just trying to get a feel for what i should be aiming for temp wise, as i have no feking idea tbh.
I know im probably over the top (and annoying) on this but its my first full build, so its all on my head..

Now is the time to say beware of web searches for cooling you will end up in some darkened corner with a bunch of overclockers lapping your chip n ducting your air.Seriously wierd people will talk of blowing vs sucking and other fun things.May help to look at ppl using same mb and check their posted temps...........sadly they will be posting that info and much MUCH more.
If it were me I would focus on case temp,if the air in the case is hot the cpu will definitely run hotter.I usually use tiny strips of paper in front of fans to check they really are blowing the right way.The decision on cpu is up to you its more efficient to blow onto the chip but many will advise that sucking air thro the hs is just as good ??? try both but be careful of rocking the hs as the thermal paste (hopefully u used arctic silver n not the yellow gunk ? ) goes off and more the hs will damage its thermal transfer
