Ok.. As of the last few days, I’ve not been getting that little beep every time I boot up.
No beep = No load.
Can anyone tell me what that “beep” indicates is working so I at least know what I’m looking at.
It’s on and running fine now, but it was locking up and refused to reboot last night at all.
I had a Wiggle at everything and checked all the connections.
Everything seems fine..
Had to redo the bois config and Pc time refuses stay set each time I boot up now.

Any advice before I pull any more of my hair out!

**edit**
Seems i'm having to tell a lot of things they havnt just been installed.
Norton ect...

Either your mainboard is fucked or your BIOS battery is dead. (Well your bios battery is def dead as its not keeping its setting)

Would the battry cause the locking up, still have graphic's on screen just the keyboard and mouse done work.
Seems fine now.. running smoth and fast..

Also had to use a 20-24 pin adapter on my psu..
that have an effect maybe?

lol ffs i have no luck :S

Ok got it running without the battery in...
as it just decided to lock up..
3.1volts output... just looking that up :S

and lost graphic's output that time...
screen froze keyboard/mouse stop'd working, then moniter went to stand by :(

Sure it's not running too hot? Check your mobo manual or it's support forum, different beeps mean different things.

Can u few cast your eyes over this and let me know anything i've missed.

I have read a couple of other threads where people have no monitor signal and no post beep, and carried out some of the tests to isolate the problem. Namely:

1. Tested each of 4 ram sticks on their own - no change
2. Tested the monitor via my other Pc – works
3. Unplugged the hard drive - no change
4. Replaced the Mobo battery - no change
5. Re-seated the Graphics card and processor

My PC has been working ok for months.
A few days ago the Pc locked up, graphics staying on screen.
I rebooted the computer, and it continued to work fine.
I switched it on the a few days later to find no signal, all else seems to come online, all fans turn.
There was no beep, and the monitor remains on standby.
After 3 attempts the Pc powers up and loads as normal.
This crash and no loading have continued now over several days.
Their is no pattern to the crashes (i.e. applications running, time of day, localised or global weather patters)
- Some times crashing and refusing to load, for several attempts.
- Crashing then loading 1st attempt.
- Running from boot to shutdown no problem.
- Taking 20+ boots b4 I get the post beep and it loads.

Nortan System works (anti virus)

Sounds more and more like a faulty mobo. Not a lot more you can do really. Get Asus to replace your board.

Is your other PC Nvidia GFX based too? If so, you could whip the gfx card out of the faulty one and test in the other to prove the card.

my older comp isn’t PCI-E, so the gfx is the only thing I cant actually test..

And atm as we have building work going on, I have no idea where the box is (think I actually trashed it) and the invoice is in 1 of many boxes so it’s going to be fun sorting it out
