Every time I boot the ol' PC up it tells me that it has recovered from a serious error, although it runs perfectly well, has no spyware or virus and no issues at all.

Personally I think it just wants a cookie or something as a reward for being such a clever pc being able to recover from an error of this nature, however I fear there may be some major problem which it has which i have no idea about, and could very well be breaking my lovely computer.

Basically what I've said is all I know about the problem as I can see no running problems with it and was wondering if anyone had an idea what it could be thats causing it, or suggest a programme (hopefully free) that I can download to run some kind of diagnostic on the thing to see if there is a problem with it.

Cheers

Mace

I get that if I've been faffing around doing stuff that Windows doesn't like. I think I just add it to my list of things that will be fixed with my next clean install of windows and ignore it.

tell it to do a scan disk next time it boots mace :)

select your HD in computer manager (in admin tools)

then take properties

Defrag and set it to checkdisk or scandisk next time you boot - once the defrag is done - reboot pc - should resolve it

I know it's a bit of a late response but it could be something to do with your drive I see you've disk checked and it solved the issue.

Keep an eye on your event log you might see the odd warning saying it couldn't write back data and timed out if this is the case sounds like your disk is on it's way out so you're gonna need to back up the porn!
