was just wondering if anyone here uses AVG, currently version 7.5?

For the last 2 weeks my AVG has been marking itself as out of date every day and getting little updates every few days, but when the update is downloaded and applied it still marks itself as out of date, was just wondering if this is normal or anyone was experiencing the issue?

Try uninstalling it and re-install a product called Avast Macey, it's an AVG variant and nice and free still too.

AVG won't work if you have a 64bit operating system unless you buy it though and being the obvious cheap chelsea fan that I am I use Avast! in it's place now on Vista 64bit.

I bought it when i bought my pc a few years back, seemed the best option when i was spending £1000 on a pc to get a decent bit of protection for it, shame the components werent worth protecting though :(

*snort* yeah, tell that to my computer. It can't even notice that my rundll32.exe is infected. I found out myself after it tried to inject a few other files (to no avail, since my firewall said no to that) and too a look at it in notepad. So now I'm stuck with two infected processes (winlogon.exe and rundll32.exe), neither of which my current symantec installation (dunno what it is, tbh, but it's not norton) actually realizes are infected, but my firewall's going bonkers stopping injections left, right and centre.

Yeah, I'll re-install my OS sometime this week, but still... I'd say a decent antivirus software should at least notice something, neh? (I'll stick to firewall only next installation, I tell you that).

Funnily enough, it can find the infostealers, but doesn't tag the processes, nor the exe files, as infected.

that's cos you've got a trojan and not a virus per se

Norton's always been incredibly shit with trojans.

You want to grab yourself something that come swith intrustion detection and honey trap functionality - Fsecure does it and isn't a horrific price.

I've found Symantec to be top notch at tracking down keygens for their products.
