Broadband ok, TV shit.

It can be crap for playing WoW on at times but many people are convinced that's an issue with Blizzard's hosts not Virgin. I can't say I've had any problems with them for a while. My sister got the TV bollocks added on to their package for an extra quid a month for CBeebies or something and they came out when they were supposed to, installed it and buggered off without any problems.

I don't watch TV though so no idea what the channels are like.

What you've got to ask yourself is: are you willing to swallow the marketing behind the merger?

An organisation with a reputation for some of the worst customer service ever (NTL) has merged with a brand that trades on it's reputation for good service (Virgin).

Can real changes happen behind the scenes to improve things or is it the same old slag but with a face lift?

After being with NTL for 6+ years before, I'm under no illusion about the service but it appears to be cheaper and I've had to call BT about the same amount of times, in 8 months, than I did over the 6 years with NTL (that should make you worry J ). BT service is better though but if it hardly ever goes wrong then I have to balance up costs against good aftercare.

Just a point to note Sift, Natania was having really bad connection problems last night. Problems with WoW, and also with Vent.

Was quite funny actually, he was talking for a while but we couldnt hear him, and then 10 minutes later we got all his past sentences spammed to us in a continual relentless stream of repeated comments. Admittedly we didnt notice any difference, but it made for a few laughs when we finally realised that he wasnt ignoring our answers to his questions.

"Can you hear me?, can you hear me? can you hear me? Oh you guys are Arsenal Supporters"

Anyway, to sum it up, the reason for his problem was summed up as 'fucking NTL'.

He is obviously the best person to give you specifics, assuming he can log on of course.

Just thought you should know they are giving some users a flakey service by the sounds of things.

I've been doing some work with the Institute of Customer Service and also with a very big training company this week and found out some interesting stuff about the Vigin Media situation.

Apparently Mr. Branson has put his money where his mouth is and sacked many NTL employees and employed new bods with the right attitude. He has also stumped up in the region of £20m for the new organisation which includes a large chunk for cusutomer service training and skills.

In the three months or so that the new organisation has been alive they have risen to third in the institute of customer service rankings based on independent assessment and customer interviews.

Looks like it's not just the same old slag with a face lift, she appears to have had a boob job and some norty skills training to go with it
