Pc is dead, i might get a few more weeks out it once I've rebuilt it, but its really fucking me about now.
and im not sure its even going to turn back on for more than 1-2 mins.

I need links to good pc, component/build sites. (as I've lost my fav's folder :( )
Still trying to decided if i want to build one myself or just get it built.
Guess that will come down to how much it saves me. once i decided what i want.
The bonus of having people to yell at will be nice if it plays up, but the buying components i already have (Cd/DvD/wireless/blue lights... ext)
when I'm really spending cash i don't have, is frustrating.

I'm probably going to go for vista, although im not convinced that's the est idea just yet.
But i'll be looking at the 8800gtx for a card i think, shame the 9000s isn't out soon or id just wait.

Honestly Nat don't do it. I swear I've seen Goose offer his help as you live in the Midlands, take him up on it. You have way too many PC problems to build another yourself

I've used those two suppliers for as long as I can remember.

If you're going for a legit copy it's the best time to get Vista with some new parts, this way you can get teh OEM version rather then the full retail package. This will also cost about half as much as the retail version.

And I'd listen to Beans ;-)

lol yeah, i know the mobo i had was fooked, but it seem'd to settle down, so i never got it replaced. (which was a bit stupid tbh).

Ok OEM, do u still get the disc's to do clean reinstalls?
As its hte main reason i stay away from pre built ones where u dont.

OEM is full version but you get zero support from microsoft aimed at system builders who will get a standard bunch of parts that work without conflict and just roll em out to buyers and hence will not usually need support.Retail versions you can ask microsoft for help I think two times only tho.

Thought I read somewhere that Vista likes more memory. 4GB is good. Don't take my word for it though.... just thought I saw that somewhere.

Got vista home premium running with 2gb ram. Ram usage doesnt drop below 700mb really.

And getting a 8800 GTX and not getting Vista is a crime..IMO offcourse ;)
