As im sat here listening to music whilst working at home, im realising the quality isnt what it might be. Hardly surprising really as I have not upgraded my speakers for at least the last 2 PC's. They are old and shit!

I have on-board sound, and have a very small study, so I think 5.1 might be a bit of overkill. I also dont want to have wires trailing all over the place, and wireless ones probably are outside my budget.

What I want to ask, is if anyone can advise a good, value-for-money set of 2.1 speakers?

Surfing the net there seems to be loads of options, so I thought I would ask if anyone has recently bought a good set.

I would probably stretch to about £50, but if theres a decent set out there for less then I wont argue!

TIA
Maui

to be honest, there are a lot of decent no-name brands for 2.1 systems - I'm using a system called 'Hercules' - bit dodgy volume control on the speakers themselves (as in... not good at all - but hey, I'll just adjust through the PC instead)... can't recall manufacturer or anything, I'm afraid. But 2.1 systems are pretty easy to come by, and they're damn cheap too.

I have these and I recommend them. They're reasonably priced and pump out a shitload of noise.

What's wrong with getting a comfy headset? If you're meant to be working you don't need to roam from the PC anyways. I hate the sound that comes from PC speakers, they always sound so tinny.

Anything made by Logitech or Creative for sound is always a safe bet imo.

I disagree, my G9 mouse sounds shit it doesn't even have surround sound.

Probably best to stick to logitech's or Creative's speaker or headphone range, they're normally top notch. ;)
