Really annoying as i cant see or find a reason for it.

its setting me back £2,954,25 - not to cheap but it will last a long time - last pc now 3 years 8months old only cost me around £2,500 .

over all per year its quite resonable.

I must admit i found the site very user friendly and helpful, extra information to go along with it, and also found that they give you a great range of stuff for you to customise your new machine

Just showed this to my wife after I was planning on upgrading my pc as I was only planning on spending half of your budget.

Can I ask why though if you're spending that amount of money you aren't getting quicker RAM? Say 1300Mhz or 1600Mhz?

EDIT: If you've got kids then you can also get your office for £30 via www.software4students.co.uk which should save you a few bob and also get you a legit version of office for a pittance.

Mainboard FSB is 1066, quicker memory wouldn't serve any purpose because the motherboard would just downgrade it to 1066 Mhz.

Shame you went for an AMD proc, but with Crossfire you're kinda bound to AMD I guess...

Ah KK I just wondered, as I was gonna spend quite a bit less but the ASUS board I was looking at could cope with quicker memory. Must be an intel thing then as it was an intel CPU I was looking at.

1066mhz was the highest of the choices, and what kuife said.

its the intel boards that allow the faster ram speeds.

also it seems that the site is only offering 1066mhz speeds for ram as the current time.

ahh found it its in the specifice intel systems

Just looked a putting the pretty much same system but with the intel side.

and i would of been looking at nearly £700 more for it and that still not at the maximum spec - my amd side machine is near top spec.

And to be honest what i have is nice enough without being stupidly overdone

I think though wether you go amd or intel there will always be slight differing area where one is better and the other is not

I'm wondering about the quad core choice. Gaming these days still is aimed at single core or dual core at the best. Going for an intel dual core with the option to upgrade in a year or 2 would be my choice.

For me if i have it already then i dont have to worry about the upgrade-plus i prefer not to fiddle with the tower unless i really have to, but thats just me

I must admit i do tend to think of my machine in the terms of what will it be like in 3-5 years time.
By that time i could be looking close to if not a minspec system.

My current system is pretty much min spec and below where as 3years and 8 months ago it was pretty much the top end of the scale

Either way Grindy, it's a tidy machine and it's gonna eat most things for breakfast and should minimise the risk of machine lag in RvR as far as is possible. :)

Tell me about it, if I tried to spend that kind of money on a computer I'd get no end of moaning about how she needs a pink laptop. The fact I do work on my computer and she only wants a laptop to browse the web from bed means nothing. She almost went mad when she saw my 500GB USB drive on my desk the other day until I pointed out it's from work. What's yours is hers and what's hers is hers.

I must have married a good old bird then as she couldn't give two fucks what I spend my money on, I earn it, I can spend it. Maybe it's because we earn about the same kind of wage so we can keep our money separate with neither being at a disadvantage.
