Typically for me, when installing new ram sticks my pc has broken itself.

It seems that the cpu cooling system has broken completely, the bios has come through with a cpu temperature reading of 82 degrees, the pc keeps crashing and just powering off, Im not getting a blue screen so Im assuming that a piece of hardware has really broken itself and its overheating massively.

I checked all the cables to make sure that I hadnt just knocked something accidentally when I installed the ram and nothing seems to be loose or anything.

Its still in warranty with cyberpower so im hoping that theyll do something about it asap.

Just wanted to point out the irony of trying to install an upgrade i didnt really need, just because the opportunity was there and it was cheap and it ends up breaking the bloody pc. GOOD TIMES!!!!

Not good matey, if it's cooking itself then the BIOS will shut it down to save itself.

Open the case, turn on the machine and check if all fans are spinning. Sounds to me like your CPU fan isnt running.

Yeah Ive tried that the problem with the cpu fan is that its a watercooling system, the fan on the case is definitely working, but I have no idea how the actual part on the cpu is working so I cant see anything to do with it. Ive checked its cables and its all plugged in as far as I can see. Going to phone cyberpower in a bit and get it shipped out to them i think.

Is it a sealed system or could u need the fluid changing, and adding that ram has just brought the problem to light?
Have u put a Kink in a pipe?
Is just your cps water cooled or your ram/Gfx/mobo too?
Can u upload a photo of the inside :P

I have nowhere to upload the photo to host it so cant do that im afraid mate.

Yeah its a self contained unit, the guy at cyberpower says that there migth just be air trapped inside, but Ive done what he said and I cant get the fluid moving. I tried to find somewhere local where I can buy the ionised water for it but cant seem to find anywhere.

At the moment Im thinking that id be best off to just send it back to cyberpower and have them fit a normal cpu fan so that i dont have to worry about the problem happening again when it comes out of warranty.

Narrowed it down to the cooling system being faulty.

Gonna take it to a local shop and get them to change the water system for a normal cpu fan and they can run some tests to make sure nothing is damaged or anything.

Decided not to send it back to cyberpower as it would take weeks and id still have to pay for the shipping to them anyway so all in all it seems like the best thing to do.

Got it fixed for £50 from the local pc shop so not too bad overall.

Im concerned that the gfx card may have been damaged though as it doesnt seem to be running as smoothly as it was before. The FPS is a bit erratic on CSS, but it seems to run the new COD game fine so I dont think there is a problem with it, I played COD for about 10 minutes and it didnt die on me so I assume that means it must be ok.

Might look for a new card for christmas though just to be on the safe side.
