Interestingly I am able to play Pog, having just finished installing & patching SWG, & logged in to check shit, I appear to be able to play.....

Note: I haven't resubbed, only downloaded & logged in, I wonder how much free time I'll have to play? Maybe 14 day trial period?

I can't with Beans/Gato. I suspect that dirty Vegas has used up more than my fair share of free trials. No idea what my Ifif account is either, I seem to have loads of accounts with Sony and none of them have him on.

Ok, after running around a bit I noticed that our city is still there, & only thing missing is the City Hall. My Jedi seems to be CL 80 & has achieved alot of shit, like I had done before we all quit. Also I appear to have all the shit I had before aswell, only losing a load of junk when I lost my vendors. Slighty nervous about playing the jedi until I get to grips with new UI/Combat sys I have created another char........ On Chimera, this is in addition to my Jedi & my already exsistant Crafter I guess they up'd the amount of chars per server thingy. Anyway the new char you can catch me on is called Glaeva & is a Trando BH,.... btw I seem to have acess to my friends list from Pog aswell so I might spot some of yah logging on

I'm currently playing through the tutorial area, & I have to say that it is quite well done, & much much larger than the original. It also includes a load of newbie space quests aswell.

Yeh i just got access to all my houses and everything in .. 2 needed to be brought back from condemned but the stuff was still in em when i did ..

My Purple Wookie seems to make a nice lvl 80 officer who tbh is hard as nails.
Kaeso made a lvl 71 jedi but again is fairly hard .. Can hit for 3k with force lightening.

Game kinda has a whole new feel to it and it does look and feel fresh. Combat takes a while but isnt that far off the original style. Just cant cue up 5 mins worth of combat and go make coffee :/

Downloaded the trial account to see what you're all whittering on about. I was Surprised. After quitting in disgust at SOE's complete Ajax fans, I was delighted to find this playable. Think I'll see out my trial before I go cock a hoop over it though. Wonder if any of my stuff has survived. Bring on the original Gynggyr. Roar!!!!!!!

Could play my old char but I was in Coronet and got attacked immediately. Ran outside of Coronet but the server seems quite low on population.

noobish question, is there anything like going 'empire or alliance' side in this game?

I'm in a quest line and need to pick between the alliance agent or the imperial agent and I have no clue tbh

The Guild is Rogue Order, we mostly all still have houses where Pheonix used to be, the only thing that has changed there is the city hall has gone, so technically it aint a city no more.

Most of the guild was rebel & still is, in SWG basically yer rebel, or Imp, or you don't get involved in the galatic war. The Empire & Rebels are still at war, I have no idea how balenced the sides are atm though. If in doubt just leave the quest until you decide.

Vegas, yes you can install the game, & just open up the patcher. I took my download time from 12 hours to 4, so do eet.

I'm still running around with the jedi trying to suss shit out. Seems that there is no decay anymore, there is no Visability anymore, If you kill a faction person NPC they can rendomly put a bounty on yer head, & if you Deathblow a Player they can get the Option to put a bounty on yer head too. Thats apparently the only way of getting Bounty Hunters on yer ass. So wearing robes, using powers, & flashing yer big glowy stick seems to have no drawbacks.

I strongly recomend playing the tutorial with a new character, even if you have a good old one, becuase tons of shit in the game has changed, even general movement, combat & day to day actions are different. The tutorial, although quite long, is very good at covering them & is also quite immersive.

I enjoyed the tutorial more than the first time round.
Thanks for helping me out the other night Pog m8. You and Xui are lifesavers. Main problem I found was all my weapons, though previously uber for a lvl 37 CH, are now unusable with a combat rating of 37. Not a problem apart from the fact there are precious few people making any new ones and the mob drop weaps are basic to say the least.
How many chars per server are allowed? I may roll up a trader if I can.

if you go to the bazzar and do a galactic vendor search yourll find theres most of the stuff you need listed and some stuff you didnt even think you need is for sale..

Heh, I like it, in the ole days we had to make do with just 1 character per server Or 2 if you did a long assed jedi grind. Now I've got a trader, a jedi & something else I aint decided on.

Glad yah liked the tutorial Gyng, did yah try the space missions too? That string of flight missions is suposed to be one of the hardest cos you have to do em all in a starter ship & you go up against some very out numbered situations. You do get a badge for yer troubles though, & the satisfation of knowing you saved the newbie station from certain d00m.

You need to download the trial version on the internet.. Install from disk just doesnt work.

Yeah the space mission got very hairy tbh. The saving grace was all the shields etc reset to 100% after each kill but cumulative damage continued. I think the idea behind it is to encourage you to group for the last couple of mission. Fuck that, I'm an uber Galaxies player of the old school (I quit the station before completing the last 2 missions. Some nupty asked me to join his guild )
