Started playing yesterday and its bloody good. Great feel, purdy gfx and im a wookie . what more need i say

On Tatooine atm (which reminds me of NC's desert map, but without the fire mobs) doing missions for both rebel and imperial factions, as im going bounty hunter i dont wanna join a faction (YET).

So far Fisher, D, Prog, Vegas, and more are on Chimaera. So what u all waiting for buy the game and log in

How is the PvP and PvM done? Is it turn-based or point and shoot in realtime?

combat is a strange hybrid of neocron and daoc.. As in you target and fire, then perform special moves, but you have a lot of freedom to move. Me and fish last night were killing solo reds by drawing them away from the group and circle strafing them. This meant nearly every attack it threw at us missed.

as for PVP there was an awesome rebel v imperial skirmish at Anchorhead yesterday.

I was standing there just waiting for fish and all of a sudden a load of imps just stormed the town, only to be met by stiff rebel resistance. went on for about 10 mins until the imps where all driven back.

When you start the game you are neutral which means you cant be attacked by players. You can then join a faction and enter the realm of pvp.

Havent actually tried pvp myself yet as im too noob..

I'm very disappointed with the turnbased combat system in DAOC. I was hoping SWG would have a system like Neocron, a FPS like combat system.

I wanna press my left mouse button to kill! And not F6 and wait and see what happens. In Wolf I had "sorry" binded to F6. I pressed that so many times that every time I use F6 I think sorry.......

SWG isn't turnbased combat, but you still have to queue up your moves. You do get alot more freedom tho, and you get more of an influence as to wether you get hit or not. For e.g. I'm a Pistoleer and i can roll, dive, and do alsorts of daft manouvers to avoid getting hit. The combat is very fast paced aswell.... which is nice

For me this game is a hybrid of Neocron and DAoC. Seems to have the best elements of each and very much reminds me of my early days in Neocron, which so far no other game has done.
