Saw it on the Register. Great shame, the guy basically invented fantasy role playing.

I got my black D20 and rolled it in his honour.

But yeah, it's a shame for sure. Granted, I don't like D&D, but I love roleplaying, and we wouldn't have that or, indeed, most kind of fantasy games, if it weren't for him!

started back then with AD&D (Dragonlance setting) .. still remember the "wtf?" feeling when i saw my first d4 and couldnt figure how to read it

Never heard of the guy and I consider dice rolling card swapping type games and role playing a little too geeky .. and this is coming from someone who openly played Pokemon on the GameBoy.
