I too am a foreigner as far as ITV are concerned, but I gave up watching F1 when Mansell, Prost and Senna were at their peak.

As this is the f1 thread I just thought Id throw in how awesome the race yesterday was, Lewis did a great job all season, great to have another british champion, its definately about time we started to win things again!

Unfortunately I just don't think there's as many talented drivers around as there were back in the days of Senna, Prost, Mansell etc so it's either the car or a brilliant driver that makes the difference and it's always arguable as to what it is.

I dont think its possible to say that the lad isnt an amazing driver, look at everything that hes done, from his very 1st race in F1 he was a contender for pole position and to win every single race, he came within about 4 points of winning the championship on his 1st ever season.

Even silly stuff like the lap he did on Top Gear, he was just messing around and nearly beat the Stig's time in the wet! The guy is a natural driver, definately another Michael Shumacher, but better, because hes English...Huzzah!

I think the F1 is going to pick up a lot more now, there are a lot of good drivers coming through the ranks, Vettel, Glock, Kovalienen(sp?) and a few other new drivers are making a real impression and drivers like Massa, Raikkonen, Alonso are all getting back to their best as well.

Next season with the "old" style cars should be a great watch, back to some proper racing where they actually overtake!
