Just started playing this as Sifty on World 18. Sort of like an online version of Age of Empires.

I played this back in late 2006... managed to kick the addiction! I found myself running extra windows *all* the time to make sure y villages were ok, and to expand my empire!

I tell ya, more addictive than wow!

What the hell am I actually meant to be doing?

So far I've just upgraded the town hall a few times, built a barracks and am considering upgrading my lumber mill etc. I don't imagine my one spearsman will do much to stop an invasion

was playing this for bout 6 months... had 9 villages on world 3 but got bored and abandoned them all lol

I just realised I'm only only block away from Sifty's village, he can rescue me if someone attacks

So far I would put this game on par with Eve Online. You can set stuff up and bugger off. Yet you can also play from anywhere due to it being browser based and of course the forum being integrated in to the game helps a treat too.

I had to keep going East until I found someone out of the protection period. He's only got 51 points so I'm hoping he has bugger all defence and is just letting resources stockpile. His name is kny15 and the village is at 235|595.

I appear to have jizzed all my resources until tomorrow. Probably should have built the lumber mill etc up a bit more first

Im in world 18, but not sure what the dofferent continents mean...

I don't have a clue what they mean either though I'm on K51. I think it just means you have to trek a bit to do joint attacks or defence etc. You can still trade and all that junk if you have a market but again it'll mean a long wait time due to having to get there.

No clue, I'm guessing you just try attacking.

i'd suggest making an alliance with a few larger tribes before your 4 day protection runs out otherwise you could find yourself getting attacked in no time...

you wouldnt believe me how seriously some people take this game, their tribe points total in the millions and they literally destroy everyone on that world lol!

i had villages, 4 maxed out on 12000 odd points, and the other 5 not far behind, all with around 10000 troops in each, and still they were all getting destroyed bit by bit, hence why i gave up lol

I think attacking abandoned villages is the way to go early on.
I seem to be low on resources all the time though, so am working on those.
I have the mill on 7, iron on 5 and working on clay 6 at the mo. What levels did you guys reach before launching your offensives?

I guess im about a day or more behind some of you, so i shall see how it goes!

Wall only gets upgraded because it takes ages and I hate to have my workmen sat around at night. I'm just working on resources as I'm too damn impatient to wait for them to build up and I've managed a couple of trades on the market so far too

I think you had the right idea building up the resources faster Beans. What options does the market give you?

It lets you trade resources with people. You get 1 merchant with a lvl 1 market but people put up offers such as 100 wood for 100 iron. If you have the resources you can accept and your merchant starts the trek to their village to swap over items. Seems quite handy. The higher your market level the more merchants you get. I'm considering just upgrading one or two resource things then trading the spares for the resources I never bothered with. Not sure how that would work out though especially as some of the trade ratios are 2:1 or more.

Can't believe that I started playing this again, damn you all!

Attacking bonus villages is the way to go early on defo. Had 3 successful attacks but it took bloody ages to get there and back with just spear men.

Mine is now 20 mins aways - sending in 8 spearmen and 8 swordsman as often as possible - best thing is im not loosing troops

Mine's 40 minutes away but sending 50 spears and a pally For some reason the place gets stronger and stronger so I just send more and more troops each time.

Lots of conflicting info on the forums, but I read that the abandoned villages carry on building up troops and resources while not controlled. Makes sense I guess, otherwise they would be run into the ground before long.
My closest is about 1hr 15 mins away, but tonight the player controlled villages around me who are sitting on 59 points (and are potentially neglected by their owners?) will be getting a visit from me as their prot period expires!

If only there was a way to tell the bastards to stop bringing back so much iron Wood and clay I use up instantly but iron is the reason I have to build up my warehouse

Try upgrading your Smithy Beans. Always a good way to use up surplus iron. Or, make a few Swordsmen, silly iron costs too.

Got to get Smithy to level 5 to build a Stable. Looking at your points you may be there already, if so, ignore me

I only built a smithy last night as my iron was going to hit my warehouse limit so may have to look at upgrading it. Though my raid on the village just happened and I only got about 90 of each resource so it looks like I've finally bled them dry

Iron is weird to start with, as the initial builds don't use it, so you get a huge stockpile. However, you will use tons later on cavalry which are essential.

I usually make huge warehouses, or trade it for the stuff I need at the start until I can start using it.

TW it's an awesome game but at some moment u start dreaming at night about what u'll attack and defend the next day...i played on server 2 for like some time and got to 1.6 million pts,about 130-140 villages.I was the co-founder on the no 1 tribe on server 2.It was extremely fun in the start,making lots of buddies but after some time u really need to work as a machine because first 5 tribes always war each other and u can't get 5 mins rest because u get like 200-300 fake cata attacks on 50 of ur villages.Anyways if u do enjoy the game i can give u guys some tips about how to build tanking border cities,siege cities and quick strike ones.I even had a simple mathematical order to send huge armies from like 30 cities...i sent attacks depending on distance and unit speed using cav for speed...the whole army sending thing lasted a 5-6 hour timeline but when the armies got there they were like striking from exactly 5-10 secs apart because time is of the essence and u must finish him quickly cuz if u take the town quickly the reinforcements of the enemy will come and defend ur newly conquered town without him knowing it.What can i say...if u wanna go pro u need like 10 hours per day and once u get to +100 towns u'll need alot of planning and war master inspiration...Hope i helped
