I have been working on this for a couple of days.

A new look and a final departure from the old B.E.T.A. forums. Please tell me what you think.

Software is now the latest V2 phpBB.

Please vote & also reply with opinions and any changes and bugs.

So impressed I actually pissed myself. True story.

Its not bad mate, I've noticed from the initial shock of logging on is that its not so easy to see where the new topics/posts are, the pulsing axes are maybe a bit slow, and/or not enough colour variation.

Also quote boxes don't have a different background hue to pick them out from main post easily, only the outline box

& its not so easy to skip through a topic because you can't easily see the difference between each members post, maybe adjust the colour of subject & signature area's so you can define individual posts. I'm maybe being a bit picky, but heh, you asked.

I don't like it It's too WoW based for me and far too Horde based for a guild that are alliance anyways. Is there no option for multiple themes so the user can select their own? I always thought the orange and black was quite fitting and individual.

I don;t want the old forums back as I'm sure this is probably more secure etc (Despite the pr0n in the spam section) but I'd be sad to see the theme or similar looking yet slightly revamped, theme go. For me Gings is orange and black.

I working on getting other theme colour schemes up too. The images are just stock images. If anyone has any suggestion i shall post the 2 end caps of the banner for people to play with!.

The old theme had to go as a lot of problem code in it wasnt liking the software update, and I could not get the Capcha images to work!

I'd offer to help but my php books have sat next to my desk unopened since I got them for I am a M$ sellout.

Ok edited the table colours slightly so ban differentiate post boundries.

Going to try and find the colour scheme for the code and quote boxes... wish me luck

It's getting there m8, have to agree with Pog mind the axes are quite hard to differentiate, especially at this time in the morning.

I'm with beans on the colour scheme, so that option being put in would be ultra sexy.

I swear I'm autistic and can't handle change :->

I like it on an initial glance, finding it hard to spot the new topics on the icons thing, but that could be an age thing, is there a way of making them more different?

Can I have a grumpy old chelsea fan old school Cybergings forum profile please so I can turn all these pretty colours off?

I find it too wow centric for my tastes although I realise wow/AOC is what most of us are playing right now.

Not keen on wowness of it or colours.
Harder to spot new topics.

The way you have done it is really nice, but as it uses the same colours to flash (i.e red tones) as the general colour tone of the bored its hard to spot.

I may swap the Sticky icon with the new post icon as the sticky has a red hue to it which is much brighter.

Not got time right now so I shall look at later. Shall also work on the other colour schemes at some point.

Is the character recognition thing on as we're still getting pr0n. If it is then I guess they're using the method of getting people to type the codes in in exchange for porn. I'd read about that and thought it pretty clever.

I'll have to chime in with the rest of the crowd - colour theme isn't to my liking, and the new post icons are hard to catch. The rest is swank though.

Ok I have amended the new post icon again it now incorporates a red arrow and the flash time is quicker..... pls let me know what you think!

Anyway, I hope what happens here is ppl grow to like the theme more...... same happened when I changed from the same old theme cybergings had that was also on fun4forums to the current blue one..... got the usual load of whiny ungrateful bastards

Next time i just going to post loads of boobies as the theme... sure most of you wouldnt complain... apart from the Krazy Xui.... as he is blatently a bit of a Brighton ball basher!

Also like in the pic that Inv linked, we could maybe have solid colour to mark new posts instead of flashing, & I also side with beans in saying I'm not fond of the axes either. We know yer putting in work to it, but somehow its not quite there.

We are not, I repeat not having glowing lightsabers.
I suppose it's too complicated to have different symbols denoting different games/sections. With a uniform background colour for unread/new posts?

mey be worth some of you putting some ideas together, creating new images ect...... then voting what you like... i gonna be a bit busy next couple of weeks so not gonna have much time...... post any ideas on here and whatever you decide i shall upload them

Hey Frags. Would it be possible to put a link in to 'Mark all forums read' in the page the returns the search for new posts. I don't want to read all the WoW drivel type stuff so would be handy to be able to click something that marks everything as read, once I know I have reviewed the appropriate posts. I think this used to be in place but can't see it now (probably my eyesight).

There is the mark all forums read button at the bottom of the forums, just takes 30 mins to scroll all the way down there
