Hey folks, just wondered what you've all been up to.

I know a bunch of you grew up and got kids etc, but I don't believe for a second that you all quit gaming (I picture something like a childs carseat sat right next to your computer with large earmuffs for the kids to protect them from profanity)

I've been playing SWTOR lately, in lue of the expansion launching early access next week, but not much else. Haven't seen a lot to get excited about in new releases either, there's potential coming from Elite (new), and Official Day-Z.

Anywhoo what are you all playing, and is there anything on horizon that you are getting excited about?

Hope you're all good/happy/fufilled etc
Cam

I've picked up Football Manager 2013 again after playing SWTOR for a couple of months. I also bought SimCity 4 to see if I liked it enough to get the new one. Played it for a couple of hours and I just don't think it's my kind of thing. I was expecting the same kind of love I had for Transport Tycoon but it just wasn't there.

My son actually spends more time gaming than me. He plays Super Hero Squad Online and when not doing that is watching videos of people playing games on YouTube. He hero worships some of them despite me informing him that they are utter cack at the games.

The game picked up alot when it went f2p, servers are bigger and very busy so queing in group finder doesn't take long to get flashpoints or raids. Plus the have added content and stuff to do since launch. It's a little quiet in guild atm cos most are taking a break til expansion

@Beans

Saw the new simcity trailer, and for a brief moment I contemplated it, but essentially it's still the same game as always just flashier. I did pick up X-com enemy unknown which is pretty good for an update of an old game.

Are you going to be proud the moment he kicks you're ass in a game?

I will be amazed if he ever kicks my ass in a game, he spends more time commentating than he does actually playing then blames everyone else for not helping him, despite the fact that he's the one just running around aimlessly letting everyone else fight.

That coupled with his "Halo rules, Star Wars is shit" mantra means we'll probably never play the same games. He's never even played Halo BTW, just watched people on YouTube play it.

How do!

My daughter is now nearly 3 and in 4 weeks time I get married. I haven't dared do any serious gaming for a while through fear of Bridezilla's wrath.

I hang around on the Kill Frenzy forums, with the last game I got into being Planetside 2.

Looking forward to Official Day-Z and am very excited by Camelot Unchained, which is Mark Jacobs new project currently going through Kickstarter. I'll also probably try Elder Scrolls Online in homage to Skyrim.

Love and hugs!

Far Cry 3 for me. Happily shooting things.
Haven't had time for MMO's, last two were SWTOR and The Secret World.

My boy is a grunting 16 year old but we have a couple of games in common, Skyrim and Farcry.

@Xui How's Defiance ? The Show starts April 16th on SyFy. Interested to see how it all works out.

@Fish All the best mate. Have a good one.

@Sift What posting mahoosive pictures?

I started playing http://www.kongregate.com/games/ConArti ... -dead-zone yesterday. I guess it's sort of Farmville/ X-Com with zombies. Still not bad for a browser game.

I still play WoW - nothing else holds my interest and I can just dip in and out without any commitment now and it's nice and relaxing. Got sick of FPS when they released CS:GO which was great, then updated it and ruined it, although I hear its better again now...

I just got XCom, Civ 4 + Expansions, Civ 5 Gold edition on Amazon download for $20 for the lot, which I thought was pretty decent considering I only wanted XCom but wasn't prepared to pay $40 for it. Should keep me away from doing work in my spare time.

I just did my first marathon as some of the folks on here will be able to confirm as I've been mooching sponsorship off them on facebook :D

This weekend I'm moving to Cambridge to become a wizard of all things Autodesk in career move I'm stoked about.

Other than that I'm forever subbing and unsubbing from EVE while amassing a growing collection of unplayed steam games.

Defiance sounds like it could be the next game I try.

I've somehow managed to knock up the missus again so come December I'll have a third child dragging my wallet to hell.
So I'll be semi retired from gaming for a while.

Congrats. My 3rd and final one is 5 weeks old now. It's amazing how quickly you forget how expensive the little buggers are, first shopping trip for her I went in feeling pretty wealthy and left wondering where I could sell a kidney.

congrats to you both!
Me and the Mrs have vowed that 2 is enough, so a 3rd wont have been a part of the game plan if/when it comes along!

I suspect that the second we sell all the 'baby stuff' something will happen :D

Aye the third was a bit of a shock tbh. I gave my missus the old "could have been avoided if you'd tried anal."
She quickly countered with "or if you'd had a vasectomy, which if you mention anal again I'll happily perform on you while you sleep."
No sense of humour pregnant women.

Not doing much. Separated from gf this january, seeing my kids as much as possible though (they're 1½ and 2½ now). Playing Civ 5 with the BNW expansion, working my ass off. Waiting for the next Everquest game to come out, because if that sucks I know I'm over MMOs (last one waaaas... dear god, I don't know. Maybe The Secret World?).

Are there any games worth playing now? I've spent most of my time playing PS3 games recently but my laptop just kicked the bucket and work replaced it with an Alienware 17 so figured I'd see if it's any good but there's literally no games that temp me.

Yeah in the same boat beans, my comp is still running nice and smooth, but nothing on it is grabbing my attention, I did get a few games for ps3 a while back. Assassin's creed revelations and 3, while great games, they don't take a long time to finish.

I've just been faffing about on Facebook games (like Deadzone) waiting for something decent to waste time on. In the mean time re-learning the guitar with Rocksmith (which I believe is getting a new version any time now).

I did catch a glimpse at the New X-Rebirth game (out next month), which look's amazing due to many new graphics features, and would appear to be a complete rework of the original games. They have scaled down to just a single ship with a bazzillion tools and ways to customise to compensate for not being able to fly all the ships now (but to be fair half the original ships you never flew anyway), e.g you can turn the ship into a fighter, freighter, scout, miner etc. Also the game has taken on aspects of mass effect with the ability to leave your ship and explore space stations on foot, hire crew face to face, trade in bars etc. Overall it's gotta be worth a few quid for the collection.

Also waiting to see what the new EQ will be like, which I hope will bring somewhat of a refreshed approach to MMO's. I occasionaly dip into SWTOR play it for a little while, finish what ever new content has been added and then get bored of grinding (even pvp is a grind, everytime they add a large chunk of content and the general gear level goes up a notch, so does the pvp gear which you have to grind to earn again.

Other than that just waiting to get a PS4, some games there are looking good, Watchdogs, Destiny, AC black flag, inFamous 2 etc. Are a good start to the potential of the system.

I'm keeping an eye on the PS4 but as I only got my son the PS3 in August it will take a bit of work to convince the wife we need a PS4 already. Plus I have a hatred of paying full price for games and the pre-owned market for the PS4 will be non-existent for a good few months I imagine.

Playing War Thunder atm with Goose.

Only planes available for now, but very soon they're adding ground combat in the form of tanks.

Never been into flight sim types but this has a nice arcadey feel.

And it's free

Yeah it's good for a bit of baddie bashing. Well worth the £5 I paid. Even better if free.

Hi all,
I have been playing Path of Exile a bit lately. I was playing the beta, and they just launched it properly. Luckily I was able to keep my character :)

Its free to play, and would best be described as an online Action RPG. I think you can get it through Steam now, or:

http://www.pathofexile.com/

There doesnt seem to be any 'pay to win' elements to it at all - there is the ability to spend money on the game, but its not for stuff that gives players an advantage over one another. I think they refer to them as 'ethical micro-transactions'!

You may all have seen it and discarded it as an option, but its keeping me amused!

Let me know if anyone else is playing.

Im off to catch up on the forums (and probably stumble upon the path of exile thread that someone else started 6 months ago!)

Over the past few weeks I've played Max Payne 3, which was enjoyable but no idea why they kept sticking words on the screen at random, and L.A Noire which probably rates as the most surprisingly enjoyable game I've ever played. I only got it because it was $6.99 for that and Max Payne 3 so it was sort of a freebie but was the better of the 2 games.

I also bought every Tomb Raider game and spent about 20 minutes playing the remake of the first before realising why I'd never bought a Tomb Raider game before, I'm just not interested in them. I thought I'd like them as I enjoyed Unchartered and figured they're basically the same thing but apparently they're not.

I'm currently playing Borderlands 2 co-op with Logan which is very similar to playing with a drunk Vegas/Inv. I'm racking up the XP with revives whilst he's looting every single gun with no idea which is best an he doesn't even equip them despite me trying to explain why he should, he cares more about the appearance of them.

Well baby came early through a combination of wifey's high blood pressure , my new sons inability to get himself into the launch tube and a C-section.
This is the first time I've been on the PC.
Hope you're all well, have a good Chrimbo.

Gratz Gyng,

@Beans, I had seen LA Noire and heard that's it's good, only thing that put me off is that the graphics looked dated, it that something easily surpassed once you are playing the game? I have also played a few tomb raider games, which for it's time were good, but only if you had a lot of patience to redo fatal errors repeatedly. I see they are bringing out a new one for the new gen consoles, doubt I'll take that nostalgia trip though. I never really got into uncharted, played it a bit (reminded me of tombraider) then got to a section where badies were constantly running and shooting at me from a respawn area way down a gauntlet of obstacles until I ran outta bullets and died several times, then gave up.

In other news, it looks like X-Rebirth is a complete washout. From the reviews it's a half finished game with bugs, new elements like traversing space stations appears to be generic and a chore, and the menu system is laborious. I'll give it a go when it drops in price a lot, or even when a gold version comes out, hopefully by then it'll be more fleshed out, interesting, and not just pretty.

Getting a PS4 in the next batch, with Killzone. Looking forward to Watchdogs and Destiny, but in the meantime still need to pick up Assassins creed black flag, GTA5, and Rocksmith 2014.

Other than the new EQ with changing environment, and dynamic moving spawns, and possibly EQ Landmark for my creative side, I can't see any mmo's to play at present or near future. They all seem to be clones of something else now with very little difference to hold attention, maybe I'm just getting old heh. SWTOR is fine for story but it's very repetitive for quests on your 2nd - 8th run through with a different class, Endgame is just a grind. Secret World was good, a little slow at places, but fun and challenging until you finish the story, then endgame is just a grind to fill skill tree and max weapons. I did download War Thunder, but still haven't even booted it up for a go yet.

I did see in the making is Blood Bowl 2 for all the workshop fans, and it looks like they are going to town on the graphics engine. Hopefully they do something about the repetitive commentary, bring in some more advanced rules, and try to bring it to consoles.

And finally for some real oldskool carnage I saw that they are re-making Carmageddon.

The graphics were one of the bits of the games I liked, the way you could actually recognise some of the actors due to facial capture technology they used. When I first saw a hobo I recognised his face but thought it was just a co-incidence, then when I saw the guy from Heroes I looked it up. It's certainly something I enjoyed more for the story than the shooting or driving bits but was worth every penny.

Second that. Really enjoyed the story, the driving annoyed me after a while though.

I always got my partner to drive so I didn't have to mess around with it as the drives seem way too long for my liking.

Hi!
I'm playing with little war figures and some music recording. Just unsubscribed to wow (hooray) and play some faux, red orchestra 2, and other jazz on steam.

bye!
