My simple hints. Will update...

1) HOUSEKEEPING. You don't have many inventory slots to play with so be careful want you keep and don't worry about discarding crap weapons.

2) GENERIC DROPS TO KEEP: mobs all have their 'own' generic drop (e.g. skale drop skale fins). These can be traded at Collectors for various goodies - although some are better than others. The nice thing is that these drops stack so keep half your pack filled with these since most of the weapon drops are pretty naff and take one slot each. For each class there is 4 Collectors who will swap certain drops for armour - the only decent stuff you can trade for in the Prologue.

3) UNCOVER BASES. When you explore each map make sure you uncover the 'base' in each (e.g. Ashford Abbey in Ashford) since you can then teleport to them automatically.

4) DON'T SALVAGE ITEMS. Initially I thought it worthwhile. Now I realise it's pretty much a waste of time. You'll make more just collecting the generic drops frankly since the salvage pack costs 40gp for 10 'goes' and the average value of a salavaged item is 3gp.

5) DON'T USE IDENTIFY ITEMS. Personally I think this is a waste of money since the ID kits are expensive and you don't really get your money back on the investment imo. Some items are 'precious' and will net you 20gp but not many around. If you have the cash spare buy one and use it check out the weapons you use to see if there's a goody in there, although I find most quest weapons are better and they're already id for you. So...

6) PLAY WINDOWED. Sounds obvious but this game is designed to be played in the background while you brouse helpful urls. Handy to have a map 1 click away.

You can also use storage to swap inventory items between your different Characters

And of course from collectors I beleive you can buy a bigger napsack;)

Additionally I think is pretty general but dont specialise in more than 3 skills - but you can never nerf your character as you can redpoly your skill points later and even change your 2nd prefession later on too.

Hehe thought I would update.

1) Armour get it in presearing and stick with it until yyou get to Droknars - you will waste unecessary cash on your way which could be used better elsewhere.

Also after droknars at ironmines you will want to get it infused so make sure you do so before you do mission:)

2) Weopon drops are key in the game - as this is how you get weopons in presearing you can buy them - but in the game they are drops in the form of white/blue/purps/yellow/gold/green.

You will need to identify the weopons in order to get the most out of them. You can get id kits from merchants.

3) Materials sold affect the prices in the game (your supply and demand story). Some materials are ten a penny some drops are worth holding onto such as those dropped in UW (i.e ecto's - to buy they are 12.5k - used for fancy fussure armour)

4) Most the game is quests and primary quests and missions you will undoubtley uncover all of these in due course if you quest. you can get runners to help you short cut certain aspects of the game, i.e Lions arch to Sanctum, or droknars forge run - costs a few k a run.

You will miss out on a lot of the RPG based part of the game and a lot of skills that can be found at kills trainers through out the different stages of the game.

ID kits ARE ESSENTIAL. The better the ID kit the more modifiers you can identify on a bit of kit.

Salvage kits are good investments as it allows you top slavage runes from drops, ID kit shows you what the modifiers are. You can then apply to armour etc.. Also you can slavage weopons for common crafting material.
