nice to know

btw neilee, do you know if there is a way to transfer download content?

eg: if a mate has bought extra tracks for something like GH3, can they then be copied to your system etc?

Not that I know of, but I've not looked that hard, normally on consoles these sorts of things are tied down to the machine.

Would be worth checking out though, I've bought a few games on PSN that I wouldn't want to lose if they were tied to the HDD serial rather than the machine.

i *think* they are tied to ure psn account rather than individual machines or HDD's

Upgraded the HDD in my PS3 today to a 320Gb for £60 using the backup feature in the PS3 and copied saves etc straight over to a USB HDD.

Sony have actually put some effort in on this and made it quite straightforward.
