So my boy wants a 360 for Chrimbo and I had no joy persuading him to have a Wii instead so my question is this:

360 core or 360 pro?

Bear in mind that he's 10 and is in no way getting interweb access. He has an xbox atmo and watches movies on it which system is best for that or are they the same?
And no I'm not buying him a HD tv either.

So much pressure, I've only got 5 months to work it all out!

I dunno, both my bro's have a 360 and they went for the pro pack although I have no idea why tbh. Next time I see them online i will ask em for you though.

He's fucking 10, buy him a football and send him outside. You only give children games consoles when you want to keep them away from drugs and STDs/pregnancy.

well, i think the 360 does have a bit of a repuatation on the whole realiability thing, mainly to do with the 3 red rings. Its some sort of hardware failure i think to do with oveheating, ive heard horror stories of ppl goin through 5 or more 360's because of this problem, altho, being the internet, u can believe it or not lol. You can try and google it and see what comes up, how widespread the problem is.

if youre going for a 360 youlll want the pro pack as this is the one that comes with the hard drive, the 360 is fukin useless without one so if you got the core youd only end up getting one later and it costing you more.

However id wait before you buy one and the 360 advanced systems are due out soon with a larger hard drive and better cooling. The larger hard drive will be a must if you get into xboxs HD downloadable films etc and the better cooling eliminates the old ring of death issue.

well to say the least i am enjoying the gaming im doing on my New Xbox 360 Elite and for basic package it is only 300 for it.
I actually went for the 2 free games at only £30 more - also the elite is said to be much more reliable and has much better cooling system now and also has 120g Harddrive.

Not sure about the wii dont have one - not sure if ill get one dunno to be honest.

also if you trade in the old xbox you only likely to get £20 for it now
