It does seem to be getting progressively quieter, probably cos all the slackers are churning out sprogs init, & yeah with the new wow site that section doesn't get posted in anymore. I can't even register because my wow character isn't active lol, & can't be found. I think alot are waiting to see if there are going to be any outrageously good MMO's in the near future, but the way WoW has leeched the creativeness from all the games designers so that the have to be some kind of generic copy of WoW (that can't hope to compete), that doesn't look too likely. A bunch of peeps have gone back to playing EVE, if you ever played that.

Cheers m8, no never played EVE; given my time constraints, I've never tried it: WOW for all its faults was at least easy to get into.

The people I 'met' online were top, (Gings esp), and I've kept in touch with a few both in email, n stuff like facebook. But, yeah, time moves on, and I don't see myself moving back to WOW any time soon.

As for MMO's : I dunno atm, I'm trying other stuff I never played b4 cos of WOW< Oblivion, Mass Effect and DOWII have all had a go recently That Dragon Age Origins also looks good.

You may want to try EVE, it suits busy, or irregular players quite well. You level up through time subbed rather than time you play, & unless you are in a really demanding guild (which you don't need to be in) most of the game is has a drop in & play when you like style to it. It has a steep learning curve to start with, but after that it's fairly easy, it is a completely different game to WoW though.

I understand there is a 14 day trial running atm aswell, so that would be ideal for taking a look at it.

I'm in the same boat as you aswell, been playing alot of different single player & a few not so big MMOs here or there.

I just don't think I'll ever have time to play another MMO again unless I win the lottery or something. I've just not bothered getting in to any gaming communities in the US and am at work when the Euro gamers are playing so there's little incentive to even try to find the time to play a game for me. I think I'm just old.

It is, I expect things will pick up as the year gets colder/wetter.

You should give Eve a go - there's a 21 day trial available through Steam.

Good luck! As the homicidal maniac that I am I tried that too, but the guards kept respawning! Also, important NPCs can't die, which is a real bummer. But it's a noble endeavor none the less!

Im not really playing much at the moment. Im ashamed to admit that I got massively addicted to Tribal Wars (the browser game a few of us had a pop at and failed badly). I now have an account on 2 different worlds, and approximately 1000 villages in total! I can play it while I 'work' which I think goes someway to explaining while i still play it.

I very rarely pop onto COD WaW for a quick session of rapid dieing, but with a newish baby all that seems to have gone to shit!

Im looking forward to MW2 tho. I really enjoy the single player part of most FPS games, and can hopefully get into multiplayer. Might have to get xfire again...

Is it true that COD MW2 has no dedicated servers for PC? Someone mentioned it to me the other day but I wasnt really listening to them.

Are there servers on steam/xfire for it? I forget most of what i knew about gaming very quickly!

Oh and I realised with horror after clearing my credit card (ie moving it to a new card) that I was still paying for WoW subs!!! I think I have logged in about 3 times since my son was born.
I think I expected people to give a shit when i logged on after months off, but there were very few faces I knew and I didnt have time to raid so might as well have been guildless!!

Yeah all is going very well thanks. He's a greedy little guzzler (he does love the tit!) and has put on loads of weight since birth.
Conversely his Mum has lost a load of weight so everybody is happy.

Its just a shame that the 'fun bags' are bigger than ever before, but they are now milk bags instead of fun bags. Strictly off limits!
