As a complete n00b, I am looking at recommendations for a good rogue build. If anyone has a good setup for talents for a rogue I would love to try a new setup. I must say that I do prefer swords and will be doing Maraudon soon to get my Thrashblade. I will then have the chose of Thrash blade, Phantom blade and Hanzo sword. On the dagger front, I was lucky enough to get a random drop of the widowmaker, and another currently reasonable green dagger.

If anyone could make some suggestions for a setup please could you help me out. I have only just discovered that I can change the trained talents.!!!

My current build has concentrated on Subtlety, but fear this will not be much good as I approach the magical lvl60.

Combat Talents (5 points)

Subtlety Talents (25 points)

# Master of Deception - 5/5 points
Reduces the chance enemies have to detect you while in Stealth mode. More effective than Master of Deception (Rank 4)

# Camouflage - 1/5 point
Increases your speed while stealthed by 3%.

# Opportunity - 5/5 points
Increases the damage dealt when striking from behind with your Backstab, Garrote, or Ambush abilities by 20%.

# Improved Ambush - 3/3 points
Increases the critical strike chance of your Ambush ability by 40%.

# Initiative - 5/5 points
Gives you a 75% chance to add an additional combo point to your target when using your Ambush, Garrote, or Cheap Shot ability.

# Improved Sap - 3/3 points
Adds a 90% chance to return to stealth mode after using your Sap ability.

# Preparation - 1/1 point
When activated, this ability immediately finishes the cooldown on your other Rogue abilities.

# Improved Cheap Shot - 2/2 points
Reduces the Energy cost of your Cheap Shot ability by 20.


This is what I would choose for a sword build. You could probably leave out Improved Gouge and Improved Cheapshot and go for 5/5 in Seal Fate. But I personallly dont feel its worth 5 points since you'll be spamming SS and that will only crit 15-20% of the time. Fisher likes it.

The more common one is 21/8/22, where you take improved backstab in the Combat tree, and this build will let you swap between swords and daggers at will but leaves out some of the more refined skills like Improved Cheapshot and you'd have to lose the point in Camoflage. (choose either Master of Deception or Camoflage btw, some prefer one or the other).

I swear by Improved Expose Armour against warriors, pallys, druids and priests, but mostly only use it against warriors. You can choose some poison skill sif you dont want it.
